Biography Judson Picot Eneas
Judson Eneas

Judson Picot Eneas began his formal training in art at the age of 10 with a private tutor in San Francisco, California. At the age of 14 he became a student at the Finance Corporation of the Bahamas Summer programme in Nassau, Bahamas under the tutelage of the internationally known artist, Maxwell Taylor, taking part in the production of a mural that is now displayed in the Central Bank of the Bahamas.

In a short period of time, his talent was quickly recognized in High School in Annapolis, Maryland when he was inducted into the National Arts Honor Society at the age of 17. He subsequently attended The College of The Bahamas and Hampton University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Art degree with Honors in Art. Not only has he been tutored by nationally known Bahamian artists like Stanley Burnside and Antonius Roberts, but also well know American portrait artists like Mr.Simmie Knox, an African American artist who painted President Bill Clinton between the years 2001 to 2008. Judson obtained a Master’s Degree in Painting from Howard University.

He is a prolific painter specializing in portrait art. He is one of those rare people who have true passion, dedication, and a gift for transposing nature’s beauty to canvas. He donated a portrait of his grandfather the Honorable Senator Dr. Cleveland W. Eneas to the dedication of the Cleveland Eneas Primary School in The Bahamas. He has been commissioned to paint for many people including Dr. L. Barry Russell of Nassau, Bahamas, Dr. Rodney Ellis and Dr. Roscoe Moore of Washington, DC, Mr. Gino Hakimi of the Framing Studio in Washington, DC and Cable Bahamas in Nassau, Bahamas.

A promising and talented prodigy, Judson, is a versatile painter who marvels in capturing the emotion of the everyday; he continues to produce a unique and fresh portraiture style. His work reflects many years of taking notice of all things living such as botanical and societal rituals. His representational paintings have a loose and textural quality, full of contrast and vibrant color. His characteristic subject cropping grasps the viewers’ attention and draws them in to study the message or story behind the work. His art is about experiencing the soul of beach, birds, and people who surround the beautiful Islands of The Bahamas. Judson creates art because it allows him to explore rather than just glance painting isn’t just a job or hobby for him it’s a passion. Maybe even an obsession. Each one challenges him to create that magic that goes beyond just a painting of a thing. After his first highly successful one man show in November of 2012 he realized that he could earn a profit from his paintings online.
